The Chestnut Man is a Danish Netflix series that is based on the best-selling book by the same name. (affiliate link) Both the book and the series were written by Søren Sveistrup, creator of The Killing. The chestnut man of the title is a creepy calling card left by a killer after a brutal murder.  While the detectives investigate the murder, evidence on the chestnut man points to another case: the missing daughter of a local politician.

The Chestnut Man boasts a stellar cast, including Danica Curcic (Equinox), Mikkel Boe Følsgaard (The Rain, Borgen), David Dencik (Quicksand) and Lars Ranthe (Another Round).  Netflix plans to drop the series in the fall. You can see the teaser trailer here.
