Lupin is a French series on Netflix. “Arséne Lupin: Gentleman Burglar” is a character created in 1905 by author Maurice Leblanc. In present day Paris, Assane Diop (Omar Sy, The Intouchables) uses the character as inspiration to avenge his father, who died 25 years ago after he was accused of a crime he didn’t commit. Lupin is a joint production of Gaumont TV and Netflix, and is created by George Kay (The Yorkshire Ripper, Criminal UK). One of the directors is Louis Leterrier, who directed the film Now You See Me, and the flashy style of Lupin seems similar to that, based on the trailer. You can see the English dubbed trailer here. Let’s hope that Netflix gives us a choice of watching the actual series with subtitles!
