To The Lake (Epidemiya), on Netflix, is about a group of Russian people who must escape Moscow and live together in a small town to survive a plague. Sound familiar? Despite the “I’ve seen it before” reaction, the trailer shows a more lo-fi approach to the subject, making it seem even more realistic and grim. I also get the sense that it will be more brutal than what we are used to seeing. All of which is to say, “I’m in!” You can watch the trailer here.
